In dirt and dust

I was delivered kilos upon kilos of potting soil today and I feel kinda bad that something like dirt had to be ordered online.

I mean, I'd normally go downstairs and dig up soil and use it for potting, but no!

Also the potting soil used in this sort of the world is rather different, in that it's sort of porous, like blackened sawdust and water much too easily leeches down towards roots and outside of the pot collecting in a plate.
These things baffle me.

But soil online? Something doesn't feel right about it.
