Solemn subjects

Doleful rainy mornings and to think I just got done watering the plants and preparing them in large tubs to endure my two week absence.
If it rains everyday then I'd not have bothered but weather is nearly as fickle as matters of heart and one can only tread with caution in such cases.
Rains as much as I adore them there are times I abhor the creepy crawlies it tends to enliven that start parading around the place like they own it.
Case in point ugly slugs that leave a trail of smear on my floors because they've lost their way and entered my abode only to give me panic attacks because wriggling things without backbones give me the heebie jeebies and there's only so much I can do to not set the house on fire.
I understand they're absolutely harmless but heavens they wriggle and that's enough for me to jump through the roof.
There was a fat caterpillar sitting on my thyme yesterday and blended exceptionally well with green foliage that was until I came there with a pair of scissors foraging for some fragrant leaves and the ghastly thing moved and I didn't go to the balcony the rest of the day.
A finger sized millipede made its way to my lounge area and for the longest time I though it to be a fat wire that's been left here, a fat short wire and that alarmed me somewhat. A bit of toothpick probe made the thing curl up and I ran out of the house waiting to find a Good Samaritan who'd rid me off the evil in my house.
Damsels in distress are such a rarity that knights in shining armour are bloody extinct and thusly there was no one to help me and I had to throw a thick wad of tissue on that thing and pick it while screaming the whole time before throwing it in the dustbin.
Life is not easy I tell you.

Rains and I love the cloudy cheerlessness they wash interiors of the house with.
The gloomy dullness has its own charm and far be it for me to get depressed I revel and relish it.
