health and safetea

Did I mention this is my caffeine purge week? Well, not that it's a momentous happening or event of the year but I Like to log it here so I remember having done it except I don't think it's been a month since last and yet here we are.

I have mentioned in my many archives about a sickness that befell me a couple years ago, which wasn't as much as a sickness as my body going full mental on me by producing a particular chemical in excess that absolutely threw a spanner in the configuring gears of my system and all was haywire for almost a year and ever since that most obnoxious wake up call I have learnt to understand my body a little better and it's almost like every day I learn a little more; I do have my failings of course what with busted quads and torn muscles but it's all a gradual learning and healing process and I now know better. Our body needs to be asked not urged and as much as we understand the limitations while continuing to raise the bar higher the better.
It all has to be done moderately yet deliberately in slow progression and every now and then after two steps ahead you might take one step back to look over things and take some baby steps ahead to take another step back and that is fine.
We wish we could sprint through and we often do ignoring the signals our body sends and finally, there's a hurdle we've no practice of overcoming and there we lapse and sit, as opposed to a careful adept trudge that easily enables us to cross many a hurdle.

What has that got to do with my monthly caffeine purge you ask?
Every couple of months, or now and then around ceratin periods my body tends to throw me a signal, asking me to create a more alkaline environment inside the system and I comply. That is when everything with acidic properties goes out the schedule cycle.
Anything that is tea, coffee, acidic foods, pungent spices, fats that aren't MCT's are given a rest for a goodly week before I get on with the normal telecast and it's not the easiest thing to do because habits when suddenly moved away from leave a void, but I am a creature of habit and I love my morning tea and it's with unconcealed excitement that I tell you of this new concoction I have devised which helps during days when you need a hot cuppa but you'd rather not.
It doesn't look like tea and doesn't taste like one too, but if you were to close your eyes and sip on it you'd almost think you were sipping on a delicious chai latte.

I think I'd write a bit more on that recipe, but now I have cookies to bake.
Soon..
