Now, aren't these new shoes a darling in their neon orange hues, and don't even let me start on the comfort. Like putting your foot in a padded tank, ready to absorb every shock, fall, jump with not the slightest bit of kick back. I almost feel like I workout on cotton clouds.
It was a bit of everything today. Cardio+kickboxing+abs/obliques .
My legs were a bit sore from yesterday's torture so I stayed away from lower body workouts but I know my arms and shoulders are going to feel the burn tomorrow from kickboxing.
The thing with pausing training for long durations, like I did for almost more than a month in late November and complete December and binging unrestrained on food for the most part of December is that you don't realise how and where the fat slyly begins depositing itself, until one day you suddenly realise your arms and waist are getting rotund.
It's sneaky in its ways to crawl around waistline and thighs (my problem area) and sit there quietly and exercising isn't nearly as important as nutrition and even if you're eating right without a lot of exercising is fine. But a potent mixture of the two is deadly in its ways to manifest as fat and its when you start working out rigorously again do you realise that some restraint in terms of food was in order, but then again, what's done is done.
It's only forward from here.
It's been almost a a month of getting back into my usual workout circuit and the only thing I'm still avoiding is upper body strength training because I don't want to give too much too quick to my shoulder which though healed is slowly strengthening.
So I'm doing exercises that indirectly put pressure on my shoulders, though not as much and this way I feel in a month or so I can get back to lifting again.
I've started doing burpees though not as many, few push ups, few triceps dips and keep from doing them regularly and never skip on the stretches, though I am keeping from Yoga, but I'll get into the groove soon.
