Please stop using glitter!! Please just stop!
I can't take it, I simply can't. Those micro plastic beads, teeny sand like plastic granules that can't be easily spotted unless in a heap of shiny mound, so easily dispersed in everything, down the drains and into water bodies, and they don't decompose cuz they're plastic for heavens sake and I can't tolerate it, nor should anyone.
Why these aren't banned is beyond me when they've the potential to do everything that plastic bags of bigger sizes do. Just because they're small and shiny and sometimes pretty doesn't mean we tolerate them.
Gods!!
I've just been gifted several craft items by little neighboring kids and almost everything has been prettified by gluing glitter and heavens help me it's flaking off and flying all over my house.
I saw a few shiny bits stuck on my cat and cleaned them out before he could lick them.
Can you imagine the hazardous outcomes of having near microscopic plastic bits stuck inside your system?
We don't realize because they're so commonly used for crafts and other kids related materials, and for beautifying and making everything shimmery, and they're horribly unsafe, not to mention messy, because I've just finished vacuuming my house a second time, and still my eyes catch glittery bits in some corner or the other. I have since put all the little gifts in a box so they don't keep shedding their grievous glitter all over, but seriously..this is something that needs to be controlled. Parents ought to discourage the use of glitter in their children's craft classes, and people have got to stop wearing sequins stitched on their clothes, cuz it's all plastic. Fuck plastic!
