Was wondering how lame would it be if I were to buy a small gas fired coffee roaster for home.
I'm not a big one on coffee, but whatever little I do drink I'd rather drink a good cup.
Off late I've realized that most of the commercial coffee beans that I buy are somehow a little too roasted for my taste or sometime not full enough.
This way I could buy my own green coffee beans and roast them at home to whatever kind of city roast I want.
This is of course just a thought, but I'm thinking about it.
Perhaps if I find one good and small enough that isn't too fiddly.
There isn't any way of talking about this without coming across as hipsterish, and for one I'm such a tea person.. but I do like a bit of coffee every now and then and it hurts when it's not how you'd want it to taste.
Or if I could just find good coffee beans that consistently taste as good.
I'd been drinking a wonderful local Brazilian coffee brand and now that's over. I didn't have a big packet of it to begin with.
Apart from that I've a couple Italian espresso coffee brands and they're good but not really as a pour over. For starters they've been ground to a powder not quite suitable for filters. I think it'll do better in a mocha pot, and I currently don't have one.
Right so what I have right now is a rather commercial Starbucks Colombia medium roast and it's kinda just okay.
So I've been thinking why not buy a damn roaster and make life easier. There are good shops here that sell green coffee beans. Maybe I should just cut the middleman and do a full city roast myself.
These are just thoughts really, but if I spot something good I might just buy it.
