My mornings are awash with frantic chores.
Starting with taking out the garbage to arranging dried utensils from last night, organizing furniture which is usually in a disarray from the night before that includes fluffing cushions, cleaning table tops, putting away charging cables and remote controls, straightening the throws and other fluffy little things that cats use to sleep or play on, spruce up the dining table that tends to collect things overnight, making the bed and finally cleaning the house.
Usually I clean the lounge which includes a quick dusting, brooming/vacuuming, mopping on the daily without fail even if I give just a cursory clean to the other rooms because lounge is the most widely used space in the house, but on days when I know the other rooms have got their share of activities I go through the same drill in those rooms as well.
Bathrooms are cleaned every alternate day and usually I clean mine before I get into the shower.
All these activities I described above take upwards of an hour after which I sit down for my time when I drink water, tea, have something to eat before finally plunging on with the day.
Usually this time is complemented with some soothing music.
Mostly it's Hindustani Classical because it somehow purges the house of spent energies sanctifying my surroundings with calmness and reanimating the day for whatever it holds with a dignified air that reflects through the daily cleanse.
While I take care of the house physically, my daily morning music cares for it spiritually.
