Long post and shenanigans

The weather forecast had failed to make any mention of rains last evening while I sat in a nearby brewery, sampling their oatmeal stout with hints of caramel and chocolate.
Not bad, I'd exclaimed as I chomped down on some nacho's and Sichuan style fried chicken when suddenly there was the unmistakable roar of thunder followed by a lightening the proportions of gods taking flash selfies and there was a downpour so sudden that all diners sitting outside came running back inside the brewery.
Some brave ones kept sitting under an awning and all of us looked a bit flabbergasted, muttering in hushed tones about not carrying umbrellas because there was no forecast.
I, however had an umbrella which is a tiny one always tucked in the recesses of my bag and so there was no stressing out.
I kept at my drinks and snacks and just as sudden as the rains had appeared they disappeared.
Right then I thought and called for a taxi to return home, except it suddenly stared drizzling again and there were no taxis.
The app said that the taxi waiting time is 86 minutes and so it was decided that we could take bicycles, for home was a mere 3 kms and cycling would be easy.
Okay!
Except one of us (me) was a little more than buzzed and it took me almost five minutes to find the stand.
The idea of taking a bicycle was abandoned.
The rains had almost stopped and it was decided to walk a bit to wear off the buzz and then maybe take a bicycle.
Okay!
Five minutes into the walk the skies tore up and downpour again.
My umbrella helped as much as it could but it wasn't enough to keep two people dry under lashings of waterfalls .
There were many a similar idiots like us who were running sans umbrella, some were drenched, some walked nonchalantly because how much wetter can one get and some tried to hold their jackets over their head.
We were among the fortunate ones.
When the house was only a km away and the rains had subsided it took me not a minute to spot a couple bicycles and it was then decided that we would ride our cycles on the sidewalk because somehow my giggling uncontrollably while getting wet was a mighty giveaway.
Somehow home found us.
Peeling away clothes and washing away makeup I died in bed knowing nothing else.

This morning has thusly been spent cleaning my leather shoes and bag from last night and showing them some sun.
My dress is wet and perhaps a bit filthy too and that'll need separate care and I don't know for some reason I'm not mad at yesterday.

It was quite fun!
