Do you ever just randomly wake up in the morning and think that you'd like to eat a thick slice of a delicious chocolate cake?
And when I say chocolate cake I do not mean those disgusting thickly iced butter cream frosted commercial chocolate cakes that are slathered in that plasticky icky icing of the viscid variety, beaten to a silky texture using unnatural fats and high amounts of sugar, which makes you want to curl up into a fetal position and hope for a roving bulldozer to smear you into a pulp for having sinned so hard.
No, I mean that delicious airy and light chocolate cake which need not be frosted at all. Something of a chocolate sponge cake, that's all too easy to eat without the adhesive grotto like qualities.
Since the time I woke up I've been craving a chocolate cake, and it's odd cuz mostly I hanker for brownies and nice thick dense fudgy ones too (you know what I'm talking about) but not today.
No sir!
Today I have a very specific need to eat a very specific kind of chocolate cake.
I wonder if I should bake it today or wait for a time when I can take pictures, because I have been slacking on my food blog and needs repair that ASAP.
So yes, but the needs are happening today and maybe I can devise a wonderful new recipe and here's the problem, and I shudder as I write this, for it is an anomaly; there are no eggs in the refrigerator.
Gasps!!
I mean there were four of them, sitting serenely but I had them for breakfast without thinking in the slightest and now I'm out.
Which means I'll have to venture out (boo hoo) in this icy weather and buy some.
Makes the whole enterprise of baking look that much less enticing, but what of it?
I've been craving cake and today I realized the needs and now I musts bake one.
If not today, then tomorrow.
Perhaps sometime near weekend so it's easily consumed, because I'm too timid to snaffle big slices of cakes on weekdays, and that too alone..not that I can't, because by the gods I am blessed with gluttonous appetites but because I do not want to.
So yes, chocolate cake!!
How about Friday? Or Saturday?
