Hot in heat

Have you eaten something so spicy it numbed your ears?
I did just now and it was delicious, yes, but also stupidly spicy and I am to blame for that.
Somehow I couldn't make up my mind about lunch today and so a noodle salad was what I decided on.
A rice noodle salad no less with all the crunch of vegetables topped with lightly cooked fish and so I got on with making the dressing to which I added extra spicy red chillies because initial taste test revealed it to not be nearly spicy.
I should have stopped there but I didn't .
To the salad part I added some finely diced green peppers which I didn't think would be so extraordinarily spicy and also added some red bird eye chillies which I thought would only add a bit of heat because my brain had shut down.

Some days I crave clayey bland foods and some days I need spicy madness and this was a very zingy salad that was meant to be spicy, sour and a bit sweet but once everything was put together  it ended up becoming something of a fiery vengeance upon my taste buds because I was in literal tears.
Did I eat it all?
Why, yes! It was delicious .
Is my mouth burning?
Yes. I've a miniature version of hell manifesting itself upon my tongue and it's not fun.
Also, ever had anything hot on top of a spiced up burning mouth?

No..I'm not torturing myself. Just asking.

There's cold coffee sitting on my table and I'm berating myself for being so careless .
