The thing of things

Talking of things; come travel time and we're looking for all that's travel sized, because who wants to lug around big bottles of things?
Anything that's =/< 100mls is desirable and that's when you start piling on things.
Travel sized shampoo, conditioner, face wash, hand cream, night cream, face oil, moisturiser, body lotion, perfumes, hair spray, serum, essence, toothpaste and the list goes on.

One doesn't realize when there's suddenly tinier versions of almost every toiletry, like little babies birthed overnight after a jaunt to local drugstore and or body care shop.
It's a whole lot of addition of things, mostly because we tend to overreach in our expectations of following certain rituals even when displaced from hearth and most of these rituals are hardly ever followed, especially on trips.

I used to be one of those people buying little things for each trip, until I'd amassed tinier versions of every essential and ended up using them at home instead of trips.
Now all I really do is invest in clear plastic bottles and sprays and pumps of 50mls into which I decant my useful's and carry those instead of buying something each time. A quick trip to muji and daiso serve the purpose.
Now I've tiny vials and bottles..basically some more things but thankfully reusable and not idiotically extravagant.
Having said that I do not know why I had an itch to buy a new bag today, and it was after I'd almost bought one that I reprimanded myself, telling me that what need there be to have another utility bag for a trip when I have some already.
It's the allure of things and our superfluous desires to possess something new.

Things are wonderful and beguiling in their ways to collect, gather and form a flock.
