Needless to say, the omurice debacle didnt go well.
One moment everything was perfect and the other which was the most crucial moment everything fell apart, that is my omurice the completed dish didn't translate to the plate as it should have. The omelette in question which works as a base for the rice and is then folded over the rice to make a sort of soft pocket just didn't lift up from the pan as expected and what I ended up was ketchup rice and some fragments of an egg.
Life has a way of humbling you. I mean I started off with the kind of confidence that only ought to grace a pro home cook like myself and that was my mistake. I should have been a bit more careful and should have also thought things through, but somehow I felt that I'd be able to pull off a delicate stunt like releasing the omelette from the base like I always do and have done a million times over, but this time I'd changed my technique which proved to be the downfall and I couldn't finish the recipe as expected.
Ah well, in each life some rain must fall and mine had a bit of a torrid monsoon, but what of it?
