Not nine yet and I am ahead of today.
Partly because I didn't fix any breakfast or lunch this morning.
Last night 'someone' left a window open and a cat who is the resident duchess and evokes much fear in rest of my cats entered the house.
Her appearance and demeanour are most beguiling.
She is extremely affectionate, cute and loves to be petted and is most friendly with humans, but cats! That's a different story.
All my cats are afraid of her and in fact avoid entering through the main door because she about breaks them with a look.
And so she entered and sauntered about my house like it belonged to her.
It was around 1 in the am and I had woken up momentarily to sip some water.
It was then that I heard the most vile sounds emanating from my Hope who was sitting at the entrance of the bedroom.
Now hope is a feisty cat but she is no fighter and for her to make such a deep growl which peaked into a high pitched shriek is uncommon.
I got out of bed to check on her and in the darkness I felt Hope scrambling towards me breaking free from another cat.
It was hard to understand in my half asleep state as to why Hope would fight like this with another house cat.
I switched on a lamp and recognized the little devil.
She ran upon seeing me and hid inside another bedroom downstairs.
Ugh!
I mean I just want to sleep. How hard is that?
I crept into the room she was hiding in and knocked on the bed, she promptly fled and rushed downstairs.
I opened a door and let her out.
All that was left for me was to explore exactly how she entered.
It took me a minute to realise that a window had been left open.
After a quick cat headcount I climbed back to my bedroom, Cursing every moment as to why I sleep on the fourth floor.
Back inside the room people were fast asleep. Oblivious to this scene of recent excitement.
Hope looked shaken and upset.
I got her in bed and petted her until both of us slept.
Phew! What a night!
