Schtick appeal

Foodstuffs become immediately enticing when they're impaled on a stick (impaled being the keyword ;) ) , not least because they're rendered easy to eat. If you're holding one end and gobbling the other, there's little that could go wrong. Perhaps something about how it speaks to our primal instincts to tear out foods with our teeth and chomp them most barbaric.
Everything tends to become immediately alluring, be it candied fruits or spicy kraken.
