Two bits of news

There is some salve to my previous photoshop conundrum in that though I've not been able to find a good replacement I have found a somewhat alright/okay/decent standby until the situation is resolved and in fact I've found two such substitutes that have helped me these moments of distress, namely Gimp and photoshop elements.
The thing about the former is that it's something I've never used, tried or even much heard of and it's got many a bells and whistles though none remotely close to photoshop and why should it seeing how free and accessible it is.
Gimp confounded me the first couple hours but I have since learnt to work my way around it and it is slow, in that alterations, saving and opening takes a bit of time, few seconds that eventually add up to increased screen time but it isn't all bad.
I've yet to grasp it completely but it's helped me and will assist me until such time as I wade my way back into the real deal and for that I thank it.
The other help is in the form of photoshop elements which is as one could guess is elements of photoshop, in that it has some basics but strays far from its main counterpart, think of it as a helpful friend to a superhero, one that can help but can't save, but desperate times need all the help one can gather and so for that I thank the elements.
