Watched Star Trek beyond this Friday, for it finally released here.
It was a good star trek movie, and well, that's about it. It wasn't ground breaking, it wasn't something different or a shot to your system or even crazy.
It just was.
Predictable, same old formula and repetitive.
The triumph of good over evil following the same theory, walking the million times trodden identical path. Pretty much everything in Star Trek was just as everything has been for a while.
The graphics were stupendous, and well, what else?
It's like the same story with different faces, and for some disturbing reason I feel like all the villainy alien faces are made to look the same in almost all movies(?)
Be it the bad guys from Thor, or any other similarly humanoid gigantic, distorted lizard like scaly alien tyrant villains, they look kinda the same.
Of course it could be argued that I do not know the finer details of such enthusiastic latex makeup, but then I'm the spectator, I don't need to know the finer details.
Ugh, I think I'm sick of seeing humanoid aliens.
I mean sci-fi movies are pure love, but offlate it's been overkill due to the constant bombardment of sameness.
They don't tend to be so different, mostly because movies are mostly sequels or reboots or comic franchise..which I guess most of these are.
Watching these/such movies is beginning to feel a bit like eating at Mc Donalds or KFC
Predictable, boring, same old tasteless, slight variations on the menu, processed and flavoured to hell and back, unreasonably popular despite below average taste range.
Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's bad and sometimes it's really bad, insipid and always full of eager people to eat what they've eaten a thousand times.
So really, these movies are just that, and talking trash, hating on them and calling them junk watch are no skin off their nose, because they always find people to watch them, no matter how insistently monotonous they are.
---
having said this, I'm totally looking forward to 'arrival'. looks good.
