Should’ve found it

Young love and I know nothing about it nor will I ever since I've left the young bit a decade behind me now, but let it be known that I tried. I tried, oh I tried and ended with a bowlful of disappointments for supper each relationship.
I was out there. I was ready. I was sitting on a multiple cylindered six engined bike that was ready to begin vrooming and lord I did race it into places. Into narrow corners of slippery streets, on apathetic highways, on abusive roads, under infidel underpasses, behind incompatible parking lots, sliding down one way streets, racing through deceptive tunnels, loitering around backstabbing expressways until finally, exhausted I resigned to poking slowly around comfortable avenues that promised unproblematic roundabouts and clean alleys suitable for parking..
My bike dismantled, cobwebbed, stood gathering dust when suddenly I found myself brushing and oiling the haggard machinery into a spotless giant of newly spawned hybrid mechanisation with nothing save butterflies that fluttered out through a worm hole that looked to have written itself into the sky above me.
The one place I didn't look.
