So YouTube decided it would be a good idea to throw some videos called 'junk journaling' on my feed and obviously I was curious because what on earth and I cannot understand what fearful wastage of papers and what not it is.
Some call it 'scrapbooking', 'journaling' even and it's quite the phenomenon on tik tok and it's just a whole lot of tearing papers and sticking them on other pages along with a bunch of stickers, stamps and other 'vintage' looking things. Old sepia tinted papers that people spend money on to buy along with similar stickers, seals, stamps and other ridiculous items which I nowadays see stationary shops awash with. I mean I'd always wondered what's with these Lacey sheets, old moth eaten appearing sheets and rolls of them with this old grandfather clock printed on them with words scrawled across like it's a newspapers from the 1920's and I'd think what does one do with this stuff?
I'd often think this while buying washi tapes which I use in my journals but not the way they're abused in these so called journals and scrapbooks.
Seeing it is believing it.
I think I'll post some videos cuz what the fuck even.
And why do I feel this is an Asian fad?!!
It's like an extension of knick knack shops scrawled on pages .
