Foresight

I sit
invoking sleep
carelessly waiting
knowing full well
tomorrow will be difficult
calculating
a time table
compartmentalising
each moment
and how it need be spent
but I know
Of the great leap
between what I want
and what might happen
that's not within
my limited reach
