I watched avatar and I don't think they need to make another sequel, not least because it's always the same story repeating itself. Someone's trying to prove themselves, fighting enemies, getting doubted, while being treated as outsiders, but everyone comes together etc etc.
This movie was one hour too long.

I ran out of yarn and so it's going to be a two tone scarf. 

Have ordered a dozen yarns for a project blanket which I will commence once the yarns reach me.

Portugal trip is done and I sit in my warm living room surrounded my little blobs of fur who're  only too happy we are back. 

I have a vlog to edit which I will start maybe tomorrow. 

Other than that, wow it's freezing here. Portugal was pleasant when sunny and cold when raining but here, it's icy! The moment I got off the flight I was hit by an icicle of teething wind and my feet have not warmed since .

Perhaps tonight I shan't sleep in my slip of a night dress and maybe wear a tee on top. 

Apparently last night the overzealous babes were so happy to see us they made it a point to sleep on the bed, so much so that I was hanging out of the covers and spent my night cold on my left side as my duvet was all but encroached.

These are olives 

Olive trees are the most common trees here, growing everywhere you look , however you can't just pluck an olive and plonk it in your mouth cuz they taste like earwax. A natural défense against birds etc. These need to be brined to taste how they usually taste. But seeing a million olives fallen to the roads, crushed under foot and tyre made me feel sad. 

Also I have quit eating 🐙 octopus.

For some reason I have packed my bathing suit knowing well that it will not be warm enough to dunk myself in the ocean but my lord my first stay (Faro) is in a seaside villa and it is only logical that I at the very least try to let the waves wash over? No?

I am awake
Silly of me to forget about caffeine sensitivity and dunk myself in a litre of soothing green teas as the weather today took a turn for the worse, in that it was the first freezing day of this season.
That I wasn't the only one feeling this shift was remarked upon by my cats who took to hibernating today.
Even the most energetic of my babes that is Sheru who makes it his business to do at least 40k steps every day by walking around the house and being an omnipresent tuft of orange entity was curled in fitful sleep.
There was less feeding and more sleeping and I wondered how their systems worked at adapting.

Right then,
I needed to talk about the book I'm listening which is 'ash and sand' trilogy by Richard Nell.
It's a most superior book, stunning! The story is entrenched with brow furrowing wow quality of I don't believe it and captivating.. a bit like sudden ripples in thundering oceans , the entire plot created in a way that it grips and steadily evolves. It catches a rhythm and continues and lo, a turn and the story changes. The progressions are continuous and it keeps getting better.
I'm on book two and in such awe of the writer.

Excellent! I'm glad to have found it.

Today

Reached early morning and slept. The condition of the house was well.. You can imagine there were six cats left by themselves. One of them was a bully and all of them got into some of the other sort of fight. They were tufts of fur, drops of blood and pee pee. 

Woke up to an empty bed as people had already left for office and I wanted a cup of tea maniacally needing  because it had been 10 days, and I did not have a proper cup of tea, mostly sustaining on the dipping tea, which is merely passable. 

Went out to the store, bought a bottle of milk made tea had a leftover sandwich which I had picked up from the airport at Rome and got to cleaning. It took me four hours.

The house looks clean. I cannot say if it is cleansed, but definitely clean. I'll have to do a bit more tomorrow, but for now, oh my God, I'm having another cup of tea after which I need to make some delicious home food.

I've had some time to myself 

Walking all day, looking at things and popping insta random stores, staring at beautiful fountains, all that look like heritage sculptures in the middle of the city, in town squares, staring at tiny shops that are littered with beautiful small things and I wonder how  so much beauty goes untarnished? 

How do people, living in cities pass by little shops, selling pizzas everywhere (squares), pass by little shops selling leather goods, pass by breathtaking antiquity of a city and stay straight faced? 

I am in awe, of the lovely little things scattered around this city. 

If Rome was breathing, Florence is cute!

The first morn

This morning I have been witness to one of the most meagre breakfasts in my travel history.
Yes I've eaten terrible breakfasts but most of them were from some bed and breakfast place and this my lord is an okay hotel.
It's not a big place, but no means, it's a small place the kind one expects to stay when traveling, not luxurious but alright but by the gods. My asian sensibilities are indeed hurt.
Extremely.
I see some Chinese tourists who are looking at the breakfast which is some cereal, juices, coffee machines, lots of sweet breads and some eggs and ham and bread with amazed eyes.
Like where is anything warm or even fresh? Jo salad, no fruits except banana, just three types of cold cuts and one type of cheese??
Am I supposed to eat cake for breakfast?
I ate bread and three cold meat and cheese in between and down to three cups of coffee

Why?
Well, the flight was hella delayed.
I reached my hotel at 2:30 in the morning
Slept at 3 and realised I couldn't sleep
Stayed awake weirdly tired and dazed
Got up
And eating breakfast now.
Feeling so ugh!
